A Pakistani On TED

I was searching TED for any speaker represented from Pakistan ever. TED is a small nonprofit organization started in 1984 devoted to Valuable Ideas Spreading. It is bringing together people through conference from three worlds:

1. Technology

2. Entertainment

3. Design

Then their scope become broader and they have arranged annual TED Conference in Long Beach, California, and the TEDGlobal conference in Oxford UK. TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, TEDIndia Conference and the annual TED Prize.

Asher Hasan is founder and CEO of Naya Jeevan, a social enterprise that provides low-income families in emerging economies with catastrophic healthcare. Naya Jeevan won first prize in the 2008 NYU Social Entrepreneurship Business Plan competition.

Hasan was recently selected as a Draper Richards Social Entrepreneur Fellow, and is also an invited member of the Clinton Global Initiative. He has served as head of the US Medical Affairs Obesity Team for Amylin Pharmaceuticals, and joined TEDIndia in 2009
